Ever wonder why you get hundreds of visitors to your website every month but only a few actually turn into leads? There is a good chance that your website is not conversion friendly. On average, a consumer will determine within a few seconds whether or not they will choose to engage further with your website. A few seconds is not a long time. Here are a few tips tot help improve conversions on your website.
* Does your website need a facelift? Let's be honest, did the neighbor kid build your website for $100 a few years ago? The first impression people have about your business is your website, does it accurately represent your current brand? It might be time to have your website redone.
* Where is your phone number and contact information? It's amazing that there are still some website designers that choose to only put phone numbers at the bottom of websites and only on the contact page. Consumers are lazy and impatient. You need to make it as easy as possible for them to do business with you. Put your number in the upper right hand corner of your website with a call to action like "Call Today!"
* Where is your contact form? Obviously you want potential customers to call you. What if it is after or before regular business hours? What if they are at work and can't talk to you at that very moment? Have a quick contact form on the very front of your website….a short form. Name, Phone Number, Email, Comment section. You will be surprised how many people actually submit a form to you.
* If customers don't see it, they assume you don't do it. Relevant text is critical for conversions on your site. Customers love bullet points (so do the search engines), list every single service or product that you offer. Content is king.
* Integrate social media into website. in case you haven't figured it out yet, social media is not a fad. People want to know that you are a legitimate business and you are up with the times. When I become a "fan" of a business on Facebook, one of the first things that I look at is how many people that I know like this business. It gives more credibility to that business if two of my friends "like" them as well. At a minimum, set up a Fan page on Facebook and an account on Twitter.
